Visits and Dissapointing Rugby!!!

"Favourite Toy"

Well this past weekend just flew!!! We started off the weekend with a few mates at "Twisted Lemon" (the local pub) on Friday night. The kids had a ball running around whilst we enjoyed a few toots - much needed after a long week!!

Saturday saw Sean off at "sparrows" for his very much anticipated golf day at Mt Edgecombe. He played like an absolute star and shot an 83!!! Not bad for a "part-time" golfer!!! I started the day with gym and hauled Rob out of bed to babysit the girls. We had a lovely morning catching up with Bob and Ta and then raced off to friends to watch the rugby. I have definitely watched more stimulating and exciting games and went well prepared for victory in my Bokke Bokke shirt and bottle of champagne, only to be completely dissapointed. Oh well we can't harp on things like this, I just hope this weekend brings better results!!!

Sean was in full form on Saturday, so after much commentary (you all know our quiet Sean), and a dart game I managed to convinced my husband to go home!!!

Sunday was running around again. I started with a morning squash game and then took Lauren to a gymnastics party at lunch time. I went shopping at the Pav for a new squash racquet, as I managed to break my last "trusty" one!! I eventually settled on a Dunlop Black Max and am dying to try it out. I was supposed to have a league game tonight, but apparently the team has just pulled out, so I'm going to have to wait a bit longer.

We took the kids to ride their bikes on the local field and they are doing so well now. Both have lost their training / fairy wheels and go screaming around the field. Sarah did manage to head butt some boys' soccer ball whilst riding, so we had tears, but she didn't fall off her bike!!!!!

Big week ahead for Lauren - she has been chosen as the "special person" of the class. This means that she is basically the class leader for the week and all focus shifts to her!!! She is very excited and we were grilled on Q and A's this weekend, so that she is prepared for all questions!!!! (Sound a bit like her father!!) She is a bit nervous to take in her "special toy" as the kids got out of hand awhile back and broke somebody's toy, so we had to take a photo so they can "see and not touch"!!

Our Beautiful Dalmation

Twinkle Star

Our Teddy Bear

THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!

What a busy week we've just had!!! Lauren and Sarah were absolute stars in their ballet concert. Sarah debuted as a luminous pink teddy bear, while Lauren started off as a "Twinkle Star" and after a lightning change backstage, turned into a "Dalmation" Thank goodness all went smoothly, coz in the rehearsal, Sarah tripped over her basket and went flying as only my very graceful child can do!!!
The children caught all the bugs going around this week - both were "man down" with gastro and the flu is also going around here right now, so we all laid low this week.
We have been enjoying watching the Olympics on TV this week, pity the South Africans are not really featuring though.
I have started gym - Chris you'll be excited!!! My first week, I was very enthusiastic, went about 4 times, then got the flu, so haven't done too much this week!!! I am rearing to go back - so watch this space for a lean mean machine!!!
Right now we have got the folks around for a braai, and the girls are giving us a hair dressing session. Dad and Sean are looking smashing!!!
Mom's news!!!
Once again we've had a lovely afternoon with the family at home - Sean as usual has done a superb job of cooking the meat, and Cathy always makes a smashing salad. We're in the throes of getting quotes at the moment because the one concrete fence on the side of the house is collapsing so we're going to have to replace it shortly. Might as well get everything done at once and then the saving really gets into gear to come to Denver!!!
Played my usual game of golf again this morning but this time at Country Club. First 9 was not very good but definitely improved on the back 9 so there's some hope for me. A cold front is moving in this weekend so we're hoping for some rain - everything is so dry.
And next weekend Dad and I are off to Southbroom with the bridge crowd.
